Monitor Your Weight Loss
Do you know how much weight that you need to lose? When you start on a diet you set a target in mind and a timescale to reach it in. The target may be to lose a certain amount of weight of to fit in a particular dress size and the timescale may by the time you go on holiday or a year from now.
Factors In Losing Weight
Many diets start off with a set amount of calories per week and this doesn’t change throughout the diet. If you have tried these diets before and they haven’t worked it can be very demoralising and stop you dieting full stop. “I’ve tried every diet under the sun and nothing seems to work” is a statement that we have heard from people who want to make a change and have come to us for help. Why is this the case?
Every Dieter Is Different
If the diet that you are on isn’t working, or suddenly stops working, what is going on? After all, if you reduce calories and exercise more, the weight should fall off, right? We’ve even said similar in this blog so it must be true.
Yes, it should, but every dieter and diet is different. That’s why we have a team of experts at Weight Medics to guide all our weight loss customers. On our various plans we offer:
- An expert doctor to manage your programme
- A monthly full Body Composition Analysis which tells you your Basal Metabolic Rate, in other words how many calories your body burns each day so the doctor can work out what your daily calorie intake should be to enable steady, sustainable weight loss
- The doctor will advise you on what to change within your eating plan to achieve the right daily food intake
- You’ll also learn your body fat percentage, your Fat Free Mass, the amount of visceral fat that you have and your metabolic age, i.e. whether you have the metabolism of a younger or older person than your current age
- Based on your Basal Metabolic rate, the doctor will advise what you can add to each meal to make up your Personal Food Plan
- As your weight comes down and your general level of fitness improves, your Basal Metabolic Rate should increase, so the doctor can add more food to your daily intake while still maintaining weight loss!
